Ford Focus ST 250 Tuning Packages.

We offer a number of well refined tuning packages. We offer 280 and 300 BHP calibrations that can be installed via OBD here in Blackpool or via our extensive installer network and we can also offer in house or E-Mail supplied calibrations utilising the COBB Accessport system.

MSD 280 conversion for the Ford Focus ST MK3 250

MSD 280 (465NM / 280PS)
This calibration works perfectly on a totally standard car and lifts the power restrictions from within the ECU, further enhancing the power output by 120NM and 30PS to 465NM and 280PS.

The factory rev limit and all the temperature protection features of the management system are retained, whilst the relevant fuel, spark and load tables are further optimised to achieve this new power output.

Rest assured that if your coolant, oil, exhaust or charge temperatures get too high, the ECU will actively lower your available throttle opening and boost pressures as well as add fuel to cool things down until such time as the temperatures are back within safety parameters. Full LSPI / Knock control is retained at factory safety levels. Some tuners remove all this capability in order to achieve their power - Take care out there.

Additional hardware needed:

  • None.

Total cost installed to the car via OBD including an initial diagnostic session, labour and vat = £299.00

Note:
A great many additional features are available such as remote custom tuning, flat foot shifting, burnout mode, enhanced launch control, switchable maps, anti theft features and even valet modes if you opt to install this calibration utilising the COBB Accessport. Please see the "Accessport & Multimaps" tab for more details. (This calibration can be supplied via E-Mail to existing COBB Accessport users at £199)

MSD 300 (500NM / 300PS)
This is as far as the standard turbo will allow you to go. Lifting the power up even further from our MSD 280 spec to new figures of 480NM and 300PS.

The factory rev limit and all the temperature protection features of the management system are still retained, whilst the relevant fuel, spark and load tables are further optimised to achieve this new power output.

Rest assured that if your coolant, oil, exhaust or charge temperatures get too high, the ECU will actively lower your available throttle opening and boost pressures as well as add fuel to cool things down until such time as the temperatures are back within safety parameters. Full LSPI / Knock control is retained at factory safety levels. Some tuners remove all this capability in order to achieve their power - Take care out there.

This calibration needs some airflow upgrades and its final power output will be determined by the condition of your factory engine and turbocharger as this tune takes the factory airflow capabilities to the limit..

Additional hardware needed:

  • Uprated FMIC with shutters removed.
  • 3” Stainless Steel Full Exhaust System.
  • Catalytic Converter Replacement Pipe / Sports Cat.
  • Performance Air Filter.
  • Denso ITV-22 or NGK LTR7IX-11 Spark Plugs.

Total cost installed to the car via OBD including an initial diagnostic session, labour and vat = £349.00

Note:

MSD 360 (530NM / up to 360PS)
This calibration requires a turbocharger upgrade in order to remove the engine airflow restrictions. Utilising the Garrett GTX2867R (Or AE Turbos Focus St Hybrid) we can lift the power output to 520NM and 360PS.

The factory rev limit is lifted slightly and all the temperature protection features of the management system are retained, whilst the relevant fuel, spark and load tables are further optimised to achieve this new power output.

Rest assured that if your coolant, oil, exhaust or charge temperatures get too high, the ECU will actively lower your available throttle opening and boost pressures as well as add fuel to cool things down until such time as the temperatures are back within safety parameters. Full LSPI / Knock control is retained at factory safety levels. Some tuners remove all this capability in order to achieve their power - Take care out there.

  • Uprated pistons and rods are mandatory.
  • Garrett GTX2867R Turbocharger
  • Uprated FMIC with shutters removed.
  • 3” Stainless Steel Full Exhaust System.
  • Catalytic Converter Replacement Pipe / Sports Cat.
  • Performance Air Filter.
  • Denso ITV-22 or NGK LTR7IX-11 Spark Plugs.
  • COBB Accessport (Mandatory for installation of our calibration)

Additional Features Enabled:
The following features are available on all our COBB Accessport tunes.

  • Remote custom tuning available as standard with every tune.
  • Flat Foot Shifting Enabled.
  • 5-way launch control Enabled.
  • Burnout Mode Enabled.
  • Valet Mode Tune (vehicle wont exceed 30mph)
  • Immobiliser Tune (vehicle wont start even with the key)

MSD 400+ (550NM / 400PS - 440PS)
This calibration requires a turbocharger upgrade and uprated and forged engine internals alongside fuel supply upgrades in order to handle this level of power and torque.

Typically utilising the Garrett GTX2867R and an auxiliary fuel delivery kit we can lift the power output to 540NM and over 400PS. (we have seen 440ps on a cammed 2300cc ecoboost)

The factory rev limit is lifted to 7200rpm and all the temperature protection features of the management system are retained and optimised for this level of heat control. The ECU spark and load tables are fully optimised to achieve this new power output.

Rest assured that if your coolant, oil, exhaust or charge temperatures get too high, the ECU will actively lower your available throttle opening and boost pressures as well as add fuel to cool things down until such time as the temperatures are back within safety parameters. Full LSPI / Knock control is retained at factory safety levels. Some tuners remove all this capability in order to achieve their power - Take care out there.

  • Uprated pistons and rods are mandatory.
  • Garrett GTX2867R .86 Turbocharger
  • Turbosmart 12psi actuator
  • Auxiliary Fuel System or uprated HPFP
  • Uprated FMIC with shutters removed.
  • 3” Stainless Steel Full Exhaust System.
  • Catalytic Converter Replacement Pipe / Sports Cat.
  • Performance Air Filter.
  • Denso ITV-22 or NGK LTR7IX-11 Spark Plugs.
  • COBB Accessport (Mandatory for installation of this calibration)

  • We can perform this conversion on the various iterations of built Ecoboost motors, including 2litres stroked to 2300cc, hence the power output quote differences. Please call us for further details.

This calibration will ONLY be supplied in house via full custom calibration on the dyno which will take a whole working day. Total cost installed to the car via COBB Accessport (not supplied) including an initial diagnostic session, labour, dyno time, graphs and vat = £649.00

Focus ST MK3 owners can add a COBB Accessport and MSD Multimaps
(Huge array of extra features plus 3 different power levels, Valet and Anti Theft on the fly!)

The COBB Accessport is a firm favourite here. The handset transforms the vehicle by adding the option of up to six gauges on screen at any time out of a list of literally hundreds. It gives you data-logging and remote E-tuning capability, diagnostic facilities for reading codes and resetting KAM etc and allows us as tuners to harness the additional power of the COBB Ecoboost firmware to deliver even more awesome features!

These features also include the ability to swap between MSD power stages in seconds (with the engine still running) The swap is done by pressing the cruise control cancel button and then using the + / - buttons to swap slots. The slot is shown by the rev counter as you press the buttons.
(IE: It points to 1000rpm for slot 1, 2000rpm for slot 2, etc)

COBB Accessport MSD Multimaps

Yes, its as simple as that.
Pressing a button on your steering wheel can change your engines power output. The car also defaults to the last used slot on power up, so you can turn the car off in standard power if you are loaning the car to a friend for example... Imagine having STD Power, MSD 380, MSD 420, A Valet mode (wont rev past 3000rpm or make more than 5psi boost and also an anti-theft device, all accessible from your steering wheel controls! With MSD Multimaps, this is your new reality!

 

All of our Accessport calibrations come with the following awesome feature's enabled:

Flat foot shifting:
Enabled on all our calibrations, this features allows the accelerator pedal to stay fully depressed while shifting gears. The use of the clutch pedal will still be necessary, but keeping the accelerator pedal fully depressed between shifts allows for the turbo to stay spooled between gears, so you can concentrate on the fastest gearshift and let MSD take care of the engine speed.



No hassle launch control:
No more entering menus in a hurry! With our calibrations the process of getting into launch mode is simply having the clutch pedal and accelerator pedal depressed fully. The engine speed will quickly raise to the determined RPM set in the calibration file. (Adjustable on request)



5-way launch control set-points:
This feature enables users to switch between 5 different launch control set points on the fly. You can use the factory cruise control system to switch between different set points.
Our calibrations usually have 5 set points enabled from 4500rpm in slot 1 to 5500rpm in slot 5. 
(Slot choice varies due to other features)

 

Burnout Mode: (Focus ST & Mustang Only)
This feature enables users to perform a nice controlled burnout with a simple button press on the steering wheel. Just hit the button and mash your foot to the floor for an ECU controlled flat foot burnout.

 

Transbrake: (Mustang Only)
Launch control for the auto transmission cars! Engage transbrake and mash the pedal. Just release teh brake to launch!!



MSD Multimaps: (Optional, at extra cost)
A firm favourite... This feature gives you 3 different power levels available at any one time. Imagine having MSD 250 (STD Power with enhanced MSD driveability and all our features), MSD 280 and MSD 300, all switchable from the cruise control buttons, even with the engine running. Imagine also being able to dictate which of those power levels the vehicle loaded up with when you turn it on… Well you can. Ask us about MSD Multimaps.

 

MSD Custom tuning, remotely!
Using the awesome data logging capabilities of the Accessport, we invite you to send us datalogs via E-mail so that we can custom tune your purchased calibration to better suit your own, individual vehicle. After log analysis, we will send you a further optimised tune that is based of feedback from your own vehicle. This feature comes standard with all our tunes for those owners who wish to get involved in some customisation but don't worry, you can enjoy the product forever without getting involved in custom tuning should you wish to.

All our calibrations come with full printed instructions further detailing the above features and how to do the datalogging for your custom tuning and the first couple of revisions are included in your purchase price. (We normally only need the two...)

Owners looking to have their Focus ST tuned via the simplest option, an OBD port calibration without the extra expense of a COBB Accessport for data-logging and remote tuning can have it done by us here in Blackpool, or via any of our approved calibration installers across our Evolution Chips network. Option 2:
COBB Accessport for DIY Install at home:

If you are looking to go the excellent COBB Accessport route you can obtain one of these direct from us, with your chosen calibration pre-installed ready for fitment yourself at home. Data-logs can be sent to us afterwards via E-mail if you wish to utilise the remote custom tuning feature we offer as part of the price. The COBB Accessports can be found on our webshop here:

Option 3:
COBB Accessport Calibration Only for existing COBB owners:

For those owners whom already own an Accessport but wish to try our calibration on there. These can be purchased on our webshop and we will deliver them via E-Mail. These tunes come with remote custom tuning as part of the price too.

Of course we also offer dyno tuning and power runs for your vehicle. Here is a customers Focus ST250 in for custom calibration on his COBB Accessport. This Focus has an AET turbocharger and made 520NM and 360PS on our 4wd Dyno Dynamics Dyno
