COBB Pro Tuning Options

As Authorised COBB Pro Tuners, we can obviously tune your vehicle via the COBB Accessport if you have one, and of course can supply a tune and Accessport package if you don’t. Read on to see how best we can help you with your tuning.

We can tune your vehicle via the COBB Accessport system in three different ways.

  • Option 1 - Feature / Hardware Updates
Sometimes you may want to change some hardware that doesn’t require a full recalibration. Maybe you have added a decat, or hard pipe kit and want the MIL light sorting and a tune tweak. This can all be be done via E-Mail.

  • Option 2 - The E-Tune
This option is done via email and you install the tune onto your handset and then into the vehicle yourself. Over the next couple of weeks you will send us data-logs and we will tune it to suit your vehicle.

  • Option 3 - The Dyno-Tune
This option requires the vehicle here and we will tune it on the dyno. Repeated dyno pulls will be made and data-logs examined to allow us to tune the calibration to your vehicle perfectly.

Changed some parts on your car and want a re-tune to suit? Cant get the vehicle to us?
No problem...

One of the great things about some modern vehicles is that they don’t actually need to be run on a dyno to be tuned. As standard they usually come with wideband lambda sensors, very sensitive knock sensors, high resolution MAP sensors and exceptionally detailed and fast logging of all the vehicles parameters.

This technology allows us to make changes to the calibration and then see how the vehicle responds when operated in its native environment via you following a sequence of events, so if you have made some engine changes and require the tune optimising, you can do as follows:

  1. Follow our instructions to create a data-log of parameters that are of interest to us.
  2. If needed, we can then send you a revised tune. **
  3. Repeat the above if necessary.

Available from £100 inc vat (On our own calibrations only)

(This service depends on the stage of tune and the new adjustments you require.
)

We absolutely do not guarantee that we will offer any more power than the vehicle came in with if it was already tuned. Indeed, we may even lower the power a little for safety. The outcome of dyno tuning absolutely depends on how your vehicle responds to the tuning and it is very dependant on the quality of the fuel used in your vehicle.

We will only leave the vehicle with increased power output where we feel there is acceptable headroom based on the data we collect during the dyno sessions.

The Dyno-Tune
The more conventional option - Tuning on our chassis dyno.

Your vehicle comes with very sensitive knock sensors, high resolution MAP sensors and exceptionally detailed and fast logging of all the vehicles parameters. We will utilise this technology to the maximum while the vehicle is used on our dyno.

Dyno tuning normally follows this sequence of events.

  1. You bring the vehicle to us.
  2. We do a quick check of the vehicle, including a full diagnostic session.
  3. We run the vehicle on our dyno and asses its current power output.
  4. We run the vehicle many more times and amass plenty of data on how the vehicles operating.
  5. We carry out further tuning of the vehicle until we are settled on the best, safest calibration. **
  6. We perform power runs so you have graphs of power etc.

Price: £250 - £450 inc vat.

(Averages £350 inc vat and dyno time but this is dependant on if the tune is one of our own and what exactly needs doing...)
